Terms of Service
Last updated: July 20, 2026
TORCHED is an entertainment and study app: two AI hosts, Ember and Ash, turn material you submit into a comedy roast episode with a score, plus optional study tools. By using it you agree to these terms.
1. What TORCHED is (and isn't)
- Episodes are AI-generated comedy and commentary. Scores, jokes, and study content are generated for entertainment and learning motivation — they are not professional advice, grading, or a factual assessment of quality.
- The hosts roast the work, never a person. Attempts to generate content targeting private individuals are refused by our moderation systems.
- AI output can be wrong, weird, or unfair. If an episode misfires, make another — don't rely on it for decisions that matter.
2. Your material
- Only submit content you have the right to use. You keep ownership of what you submit.
- You may use the episodes and clips generated from your material anywhere, including social media. The clip watermark must stay intact on the free tier.
- You grant us the limited license needed to process your material (moderation, generation, storage) and to operate the service. We don't use your material to train models or for marketing without asking.
- Don't submit: content about identifiable private individuals, anything unlawful, malware, or attempts to break the moderation or prompt systems. We can refuse or remove content and suspend accounts that try.
3. Free tier and subscriptions
- The free tier includes a limited number of episodes per day, with watermarked clips. Limits may change.
- TORCHED Unlimited is a weekly auto-renewing subscription. Pricing is shown before purchase; some plans include a free trial that converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
- Web purchases are billed by Stripe. Cancel anytime from the link in your Stripe receipt email or by contacting support; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- iOS purchases are billed by Apple through your App Store account and auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds for iOS purchases are handled by Apple.
- Daily generation limits apply on every plan (the fire marshal insists). We may throttle usage that looks automated or abusive.
4. Accounts
You're responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must be 13 or older. You can delete your account in-app at any time; deletion is permanent.
5. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the show running but the service is provided "as is," without warranties. Features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue the service. We're a small operation; episodes occasionally fail, and generation depends on third-party AI providers.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TORCHED and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. You can stop using TORCHED anytime; deleting your account cancels web billing.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the operator's residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
